With the kids back at school and me working from home, I wanted a light, simple, and flavour-packed lunch. I came across a video on Instagram for a Turkish-style Ezme dip, and while I didn’t save the recipe, I decided to recreate it from memory — and the result? Absolutely delicious!

This Ezme Turkish dish is fresh, zesty, and slightly spicy. It’s perfect for tortilla wraps, naan, or breadsticks, and takes just a few minutes to make. And it’s only 90 to 120 calories per serving.

Ingredients:

  • 4 vine or salad tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp of parsley
  • 2 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp dried chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp of sweet paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Drizzle of olive oil
  • 2 dessert spoons of crème fraiche

Method:

  • Wash the tomatoes and roughly chop them.
  • Add all ingredients to a blender: tomatoes, parsley, oregano, paprika, chilli flakes, salt, olive oil, and crème fraiche.
  • Blend for about 60 seconds until you get a vibrant, slightly chunky dip. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Serve and enjoy – Spoon your Ezme onto a plate and serve with tortilla wraps, naan, or breadsticks for dipping. Perfect for a quick, healthy lunch.

 Tips for the Perfect Ezme

  • If you prefer less heat, reduce the chilli flakes.
  • For a creamier texture, add a little extra crème fraiche.
  • This dip also works beautifully as a topping for grilled meats or falafel.
